We haven't completed a job inside Holding Village yet. This page sticks to what public records show about the neighborhood and what that means for your system.

Most of Holding Village is on Wake Forest Power

A Town of Wake Forest planned-outage notice covered about 200 Wake Forest Power customers in Holding Village, on streets including Holding Village Way, Holding Dairy Dr and Piper Hill Ln. That notice may not cover every phase. Wake Forest Power is the town's own utility and a member of ElectriCities, North Carolina's public power group. Duke Energy Progress and Wake Electric also serve parts of the Wake Forest area. Two practical points follow:

  • When the power drops, report it to the Town's utility, not Duke. If the power comes back and the AC won't restart, wait a few minutes before you call. Many systems have a built-in delay to protect the compressor.
  • Before you replace equipment, ask your own utility about efficiency programs. A municipal utility's programs aren't the same as Duke's.

Two- and three-story townhomes

Tri Pointe Homes builds The Mews at Holding Village, two- and three-story townhomes from about 1,720 to 2,317 square feet. County records code 58 Holding Village parcels as townhouses and 226 as single-family. On a three-story plan the top floor runs warmest in summer, because heat rises and the attic sits right above it. When a top floor is hot and the lower floors are fine, the cause is usually airflow, ductwork or zone dampers, not a weak air conditioner. One 2018 Ashton Woods resale listing here mentions natural gas and zoned heating. That's one house, and we can't say it holds for the whole neighborhood.

A young neighborhood

Wake County's October 2026 extract dates the 284 residential parcels from 2015 to 2025, with a median of 2022. By section, Holding Village South was built 2015 to 2019, Phase 5 from 2022 to 2024, and Phase 10D from 2025 to 2026. For most owners, the parts warranty on the equipment is the first thing to check. Many brands extend it if the unit was registered. The newest systems, made since 2025, generally use A2L refrigerants (often R-454B or R-32), so ask whoever services one whether their tools are rated for it.

The county codes the heat type as forced air. It doesn't record crawlspace versus slab, and we haven't seen the builders' HVAC specs, so we don't assume a brand or efficiency level.

Wake Forest issues the permit here

Nearly every Holding Village parcel (347 of 348 records) is inside Wake Forest town limits. HVAC replacements are permitted and inspected by the Town of Wake Forest Inspections Department at Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St. Permits are submitted online, and an inspection requested by 3 p.m. is scheduled for the next business day (919-435-9531). That's the Town's own inspection office, not Wake County's. Gas in Wake Forest comes from Enbridge Gas North Carolina (formerly PSNC). We haven't confirmed that every phase has gas.

Most useful here: AC repair, heat pump service and ductwork and airflow fixes for uneven floors.

Holding Village questions

Is Holding Village on Duke Energy?

Much of it is on Wake Forest Power, the town's utility. A town outage notice covered about 200 of its customers on Holding Village Way, Holding Dairy Dr and Piper Hill Ln. Some phases may differ, so check your bill.

Why is the top floor of my Holding Village townhome so hot?

On two- and three-story plans, the top floor takes the most attic heat. It's usually an airflow, duct or zone damper problem, not a weak AC. We measure airflow by floor before recommending anything.

Who inspects HVAC replacements in Holding Village?

The Town of Wake Forest Inspections Department. Inspections requested by 3 p.m. are scheduled for the next business day.

Do you charge more for Sunday service in Wake Forest?

No. Sunday visits cost the same as weekday visits. Call (919) 230-4439.
