Our Youngsville jobs so far

Our records show four completed repair and diagnostic jobs at Youngsville addresses between June 2025 and August 2026: two in June 2025, one in July 2025 and one in August 2026. All four were in cooling season. One was on a Saturday and one on a Sunday.

  • August 2026, no cooling. A Trane air conditioner made in 2024, about two years old at the visit. We found a failed capacitor and a low refrigerant charge from a leak, and noted a low-voltage wiring fault. A leak on a system that young is worth checking against the manufacturer's warranty.
  • July 2025, HVAC service call. The job notes are too brief to say more.
  • Across the four jobs, one involved replacing an evaporator coil, the indoor coil that usually fails by leaking. We saw Trane equipment twice.

None of these addresses matched a county parcel record, so we can't tell you the age of those houses. Four jobs is a small sample, not a pattern.

Permits: Franklin County, not Wake

Youngsville is in Franklin County, so the Wake County permit process that applies in Wake Forest or Rolesville doesn't apply here. The Town of Youngsville says plainly that building permits aren't a town Planning function. The town issues a Zoning Compliance Permit, that approval is uploaded to the county portal, and Franklin County Planning & Inspections reviews and issues the permit (127 S. Bickett Blvd, Louisburg; 919-496-2281). Franklin County doesn't give inspection times in advance, and the job must be ready by 8 a.m. on the scheduled day. For a system replacement, plan on someone being home or the equipment being reachable that whole morning.

An older town core and newer growth

The Census Bureau's 2024 American Community Survey shows two different pictures. Inside Youngsville town limits the median home was built in 2007, but 22% of homes predate 1980, so a fair number of older houses sit alongside the newer subdivisions. In the wider ZIP 27596, only 7% predate 1980, 88% are single-family detached and about 7% are mobile homes.

Heating fuel differs too. In town, about 59% of homes heat with electricity and 39% with utility gas. Across the ZIP it's 69% electric, 21% gas and 9% propane, because gas lines don't reach much of the rural part. Propane furnaces and electric heat pumps with propane backup show up more often out there. Pre-1980 houses are where we find undersized ducts and older wiring, so we check both before quoting a replacement.

Duke Energy or Wake Electric

The town's resident page lists both Duke Energy Progress (800-452-2777) and Wake Electric (919-863-6300), and Wake Electric has an operations office on Park Ave in Youngsville. We haven't confirmed where the boundary falls, so check your bill. Natural gas, where it's available, is Enbridge Gas North Carolina (formerly Dominion Energy/PSNC). Gas at a specific address isn't confirmed.

Services: AC repair, heat pumps and heating repair. For weekend breakdowns, see Sunday HVAC repair in Youngsville.
